BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP

What started as a small local stone business 14 years ago has grown into a team of around 40 people, with specialist departments spanning design, project management, digital measuring, CAD programming, fabrication and installation.

Originally known as Absolutely Marble-Us, the business rebranded to AMU Stone in 2025 to better reflect how much the company — and the range of materials and services we offer — had grown.

Over that time, we’ve invested heavily in the people, technology and infrastructure behind the work. In 2017, we moved into our purpose-built Wangaratta stone fabrication facility, giving the team the space and capability to take on everything from detailed custom work to large-scale residential and commercial projects.
Today, every stage is handled by experienced people who understand how stone needs to work within the wider build — alongside cabinetry, construction, design and installation.

Behind AMU is a close-knit team of people who care deeply about their work and the projects they are part of. From the showroom floor to the factory and installation teams, there is a genuine sense of pride in the work we do and the standard we deliver.

We are highly skilled and professional in what we do, but we also believe the experience should feel approachable and easy. Clear communication, practical advice and genuine care are just as important to us as the finished result.

Based in North East Victoria, AMU Stone works across Albury-Wodonga, Wangaratta, Thurgoona, Yarrawonga/Mulwala and throughout North East Victoria and Southern NSW, with projects extending across regional Victoria and NSW.

We are proud to be part of the region and to support the clients, builders, designers and cabinet makers we work alongside every day.

Our manufacturing capability is supported by advanced waterjet cutting, bridge saw technology, digital slab scanning and mapping, and precision edge polishing and calibration systems.

These technologies allow us to cut, shape, mitre, scan and finish natural stone, porcelain and engineered stone with a high level of accuracy and consistency, while giving our team greater control across complex detailing, custom applications and larger-scale projects.

But the technology is only part of it.

The real strength is the team behind it — experienced people who understand the material, the process and the level of detail required at every stage.
That combination of skill, experience and advanced technology allows us to deliver consistently across every project.
