STONE FABRICATION & INSTALLATION FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the process work?

The process typically begins with material selection and quoting. Once cabinetry or substrates are ready, our team completes a digital template of the space before fabrication commences. The finished surfaces are then delivered and installed by our experienced installation team.

What is digital templating?

Digital templating uses advanced measuring technology to capture precise site dimensions. This information is then used to create accurate fabrication drawings, helping ensure a precise fit during installation.

Why is slab selection important?

For natural stone projects, slab selection allows clients to view the movement, veining and characteristics of the material before fabrication. It also enables careful planning of vein direction, bookmatching opportunities and feature areas throughout the project.

What edge profiles are available?

AMU Stone offers a wide range of edge profiles, from simple pencil round and arris edges through to mitred, provincial and custom profiles. Available options may vary depending on the selected material.

Can you fabricate curved stone?

Yes. AMU Stone has the capability to fabricate a variety of curved and custom stone applications.

Why should I choose AMU Stone for porcelain?

Porcelain is one of the most technically demanding materials to fabricate. AMU Stone has invested heavily in specialised porcelain manufacturing equipment, including three waterjet cutting machines, allowing us to produce precise and complex porcelain applications.

Do you complete commercial projects?

Yes. AMU Stone works across both residential and commercial sectors, delivering projects ranging from private homes and multi-residential developments through to hospitality venues, retail fit-outs, offices and large-scale commercial projects.

Can you fabricate stone supplied by another supplier?

Yes. In addition to our AMU Natural collection and supplier network, we regularly fabricate and install stone specified or supplied through external suppliers.

How long does fabrication and installation take?

Timeframes vary depending on the material, project complexity and current production schedules. Our team can provide an indicative timeframe during the quoting process.

READY TO START YOUR PROJECT?

Whether you’re updating a laundry, renovating your kitchen, building your dream home or delivering a large commercial project, our team is here to guide you from selection through to installation.
