Porcelain Surface care overview
Built For Everyday, Designed For Easy Care
Porcelain is one of the most durable and low-maintenance surface materials available. Its ultra-compact, non-porous composition makes it highly resistant to staining, moisture, UV exposure and everyday wear, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
With just a little routine care, your porcelain surface will continue to perform beautifully for years to come.
Everyday Cleaning
Porcelain requires very little day-to-day maintenance.
Simply wipe the surface with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth. For heavier cleaning, use a mild detergent or a pH-neutral cleaner and rinse with clean water.
For the best results:
- Wipe spills as soon as possible.
- Dry the surface after cleaning to minimise streaking.
- Use a clean microfibre cloth for a consistent finish.
Unlike natural stone, porcelain is virtually non-porous and does not require sealing.
Removing Stubborn Marks
For tougher marks or dried spills, use a non-abrasive cream cleanser with a soft cloth or non-scratch sponge.
For adhesive, silicone or paint residue, carefully remove any excess material before cleaning the surface.
Avoid using:
- Steel wool
- Abrasive scourers
- Harsh solvents
- Highly abrasive cleaning products
Always rinse thoroughly with clean water after cleaning.
Heat & Impact
Porcelain is manufactured under extremely high temperatures, creating a dense surface with excellent heat resistance.
While it performs exceptionally well under everyday conditions, we recommend using trivets or heat mats beneath hot cookware and appliances to protect both the surface and the cabinetry beneath.
Although porcelain is incredibly strong, avoid dropping heavy objects onto edges or corners, as impact can cause chipping.
Protecting Your Surface
A few simple habits will help keep your porcelain looking its best:
- Always use a chopping board when preparing food.
- Avoid dragging heavy cookware or appliances across the surface.
- Clean spills promptly.
- Use heat mats beneath hot pots, pans and small appliances.
- Avoid standing or sitting on benchtops.
With proper care, porcelain will maintain its appearance with minimal ongoing maintenance.
